It’s time for your flash fiction Friday prompt today is all about lips. Well really it’s all about kisses. I can be a romantic at times. Okay okay the prompt: “A Kiss to Remember.”
Was it your first kiss, waking up to your dog kissing you, the goodbye kiss, or the first time you kissed your child. And Go!
Abby and I laughed and held hands as we ran out of the birthday party. “You two get home safely!” Melissa shouted after us. Abby giggled until she snorted, and I threw a wave and an eye roll over my shoulder.
Her forward momentum and the little bit of alcohol propelled her to a nearby car, and she draped forward over the hood, cheek pressed against metal. “Mmmm… it’s so nice and cool…” Her skirt rode up a bit and I could see pale thigh reaching up, up, up in the light of the streetlamp.
I leaned over and planted a kiss on her skin, between her shoulders. “The cab should be here any second. You might not want to set off any car alarms before then.”
This sent her into another fit of laughter, and she hopped on the hood of the car, pulling me in by my waistband. “Always practical. Don’t you ever lighten up?”
“Dunno that I had as much to drink as you did, love.” I said it with a grin, and ran my hands through her long, dirty blonde hair, tangling my fingers in the ends. She purred and her head went back, exposing that long, creamy neck. I took a quick nibble, reveling in that quick intake of breath.
“Kiss me.” It was a whisper, a prayer that I was only so happy to grant. I took her by the chin and leaned in til our breaths mingled. I could smell the rum and the strawberries on her tongue, and she tasted like summer. Hands in her hair, I melted into her scent and the softness of her lips, not caring about her lipstick or the fact that we were making out on some unknown person’s car like a couple of teenagers. It was sweet, soft, lush, and the thick humidity of the night air wrapped us in a blanket where we were protected and alone.
HONK!
We both jumped and started laughing again. “You two coming or what?” The cabbie leaned out of his window. “You’re welcome to neck in the back of the car, but I’m not hanging around unless you pay me.”
“Yeah, yeah, we’re coming.” I shot her a look that said “we’ll continue this later,” and we hopped in the cab.
